.. Pioneering the Management of Sports Data ...
Since our formation in 2000, Sportstat (Sports Statistics & Information Systems Ltd) has gone from strength to strength and now stands as a leading provider of international sports data and statistics for the media industry. Our goal from the outset has been to develop the most advanced Rugby Union Intelligence System in existence and we’re happy to announce that dream is now a reality. Sportstat worked closely with the International Rugby Board (IRB) in preparation for Rugby World Cup 2003 (RWC2003), creating a truly global intelligence system. The platform subsequently became a primary resource for all media, broadcaster and journalistic enquiries.
2003 was a starting point. Sportstat took the initial concept provided to the IRB and ran with it. Three years later the result is a brand new system - statRUGBY - holding complete histories for:
- Guinness Premiership
- Celtic League
- Anglo Welsh Powergen Cup
- Heineken Cup
- European Challenge Cup
- British & Irish Lions
- Super 14
- Principality Building Society Welsh Premiership
- Konica Minolta Cup
In addition to the events offered above, research is currently underway for:
- National Provincial Championship (New Zealand)
- Currie Cup (South Africa)
- T14 (France)
The result of our efforts is a powerful core database holding the stats for over 35,000 players and 15,000 matches. All information is updated live where possible and delivered to any available media platform. As a result Sportstat clients are never out of touch with the facts, regardless of where they are in the world.
Our partners in developing this system include the BBC, the Newport Gwent Dragons and the Ospreys. Such a series of high profile collaborations should reassure prospective clients that they are becoming part of a leading development in sports management & media coverage.
