A classical wing three-quarter in
all respects, Biggar has the ability to beat defenders on the
inside or the out with pace generated from a tall, rangy, running
style. He was educated at Sedbergh and a played his club rugby
at London Scottish from whence he gained his Scotland call
up winning 12 caps and scoring 1 try.
Another player that was
unfortunate in that, although his talent was worthy of greater
accolades, the genius of the 1971 Lions tourists restricted
his selection (plus injury and illness towards the latter stages
of his career). Although the only tourist not to gain double
figures in appearances the handsome and sociable Biggar managed
to
bag
9 tries and many an admirer from
teammates and the New Zealand public alike.
