Cornishman, ‘Stack’ Stephens
made his International debut for England in 1969 and was called
out to join the British Lions touring party in 1971 when props
Sandy Carmichael and Ray McLoughlin were injured. He found
it difficult to get used to the New Zealand conditions, but
eventually settled in as a midweek player making 6 appearances
and was particularly interested in the New Zealand farming
methods.
The Harlequins player, born in Godolphin, and educated
in Leedstown
High School, received 25 caps for his country (once as captain)
and scored 2 tries. He played in six games for the British
Lions. |
